Intangible Love

I mourn you, intangible love
You were warm sand
Slipping right through my fingers
Every grain an opportunity lost
I can see you
I can feel you
But I can never hold on to you for very long
You morph
Constantly shapeshifting
Beneath my feet, always something new
Collisions of water and earth
A taste of salty bitterness
Bursts of winds whip through my hair
Senses remain on high alert
Reminders of certainty
It is there
All around me
In the distance dancing on the water
Crystal sparks of hope
Enticing my eyes with their beauty
Feels a lot like ethereal affections
A lover’s heart all mine
Savoring the moment behind closed eyelids
I mourn you, intangible love
