State of 2017 and Beyond

Just like a deadly poison that cannot be stopped.
We are taking steps backwards and into a dark age.
The status of this world and country just dropped.
There is hidden hopelessness, sadness, anger and rage
Threatening to come out. It has erased every stride
We have taken forward and into the shining light.
We should never have to think that people have lied
And said that years ahead are better when the fight
Is not getting easier. The work my parents’ generation
Did has been undone and buried away into history.
This destruction will bring this world and nation
Down to its knee. That is what hell and its blistery
Ways will bring. Chaos and misery, but there
Might be some unity in there somewhere.
