In The Graveyard
In the graveyard
Soft and sweet
I asked you to
Marry me
Black waxy candles
With a tinted red flame
Was it you, was it me-
Which one was to blame?
I think it’s a possibility
That I’m falling for you
And I sincerely hope
That you can feel it too
We marked the graveyard
As our special spot
The place we would go to
To share moments a lot
But then I saw you sitting
By an old, mossy tombstone
I looked closer and I realized
That you weren’t alone
I peered closer
And I watched you-
You were at the graveyard
With someone new
I tried thinking nothing of it
That it wasn’t as it seemed to be
But you were holding the hand of someone
Who wasn’t me
I kept telling myself
That this would be the last time-
Your lips were pressed against someone else’s
Which weren’t mine
You stared in their eyes
I’ve never seen you so happy
I never knew that someone could make you smile
More than me
Every pinky promise we’ve made
Seems to have been forgotten
And now my heart lies next to me
Forever broken
In the graveyard
Full of deceit
You are now
Dead to me.
Soft and sweet

Marry me
