Obscurity of Sleep
Light descends
Darkness cascades
Growing weary
Slumber evades
Lying idly
Dormant dreaming
Restlessness floods
Mania screaming
Intangible peace
Hopeless reach
From this bedlam
Escape I beseech

I have suffered from insomnia since I was 19 off and on - this is such a beautifully crafted poem that I connected to with just the title - the rest of it was great too - you really have a fell for insomnia :-)

My dear David, thank you so much for the compliment of the RL lovely:) It was something like 2AM when I wrote it. Seemed appropriate. I have struggled with sleep since I was young as well but it ebbs and flows like must of my struggles. Much love.

I'm sure this has to do with lucid dreams. You're awake in them, they sleep you through. They can't get you out of their mind. Then, when you wake up, it happens all the time, you refill and then drain them again. Very powerful ink.

David, thank you for your perspective on this...wish such lucid dreaming offered rest. Lol. Clearly you relate. Best.

On point poem.
Brutal when you are tired and can't sleep and you know the next day won't give you a break.
