Three weeks ago today

It's been three weeks ago today
When you said your goodbyes and went away

The life you lived was on your own terms
And you shared with us lessons you'd learned

It was a life lived that was full of adventure
Including war times that put you in danger

Motorcycle trips when you were younger
Took you places that most people just wonder

Back in Georgia you made a home
And lived to see two children all grown

You said what you wanted without a filter
Reminding us to embrace life even when it goes off kilter

Your heart and soul were full of love
Although sometimes you'd just shrug

Now all of us are missing you so much
But our lives wouldn't have been complete without your touch

Now we know there are times in life to say "Just Damn"
And not having you around anymore is, well, ....."just damn"!!!
