Viva la Vanquish

Viva la Vanquish

Roman Legionaries used to chant my name,
That was when I rose above the pain
It’s the world I never hold
I am no longer a wolf in the fold.

That was when I claimed it all
But now I sit alone in this hall
Just a sad solitude king
Who has not a thing.

Oh, just a mere peasant, not even a knave,
Now a fool who digs his own grave.
With nothing anymore to save,
That bright road I cannot seem to pave.

Loyal Legionaries used to bellow my name,
That was when I couldn’t be touched by pain
That was when I held it all
Oh, there’s no grace in this fall.

Just a sad solitude king,
That exists for absolutely nothing.
There is no meaning to this as anyone can see,
How I long to grasp one final victory.

Countless Legionaries  used to cry out my name
But that was when I was bathed in glory and fame.
That was when I grasped the key
But now it means nothing to me
I don’t need any sympathy
Just this sweetly dismal symphony.
