In the Hall Someone Struck a Match
The rain has stopped and all is calm,
I listened and heard not a scratch;
Still I started saying my psalms,
In the hall someone struck a match.
I sat straight up and sniffed aloud,
This old place will burn up like thatch;
I smelled cigarette smoke and cowed,
In the hall someone struck a match.
