AURORA.

We lean against the rails that overlook the bay
“Hey what’s that?” I hear Betty say
Her gaze is fixed her eyes are glazed
She looks astounded, looks amazed
She points her finger towards the sky
I lift my head, gasp and sigh
Our eyes behold a vision of lights
One of nature’s most wonderful sights
We stare, gape look in contemplation
Look in awe at the magnificent creation

The heavens are scattered with a broken rainbow
Stunning shades of green, blue and yellow
Charged partials colliding with our atmosphere:
Silently preforms, whilst we stand here
She expresses her mood with contemporary dance
Whilst we watch mesmerised deep in trance
Displaying her colours and awesome rays
Darts off like a rocket, then slows and sways
Enchanting, captivating glowing silhouettes
She sways, curves... slowly pirouettes
She is the Roman Goddess of Dawn
Striking, vivacious, free, fully airborne
The provocative temptress in the sky above
This celestial body seeking The North winds love
Out of all natures wonders, she’s the greatest of them all
She really IS the Belle of the ball

She won’t sit silently, she dances some more
She’s no wall flower, that’s for sure
As we gaze, as we stand
She seems to want us to take her hand
Wants us to play, sing, spin
Wants us both to come and join in
She has stamped our memories, made her marks
She has caught both our breath and hearts
The night has been romantic, the night has been bliss
Thank_you Miss Aurora Borealis
Miss Aurora has me under her spell
I turn my head, Betty seems to be as well

We seem to have been watching her for hours
Drawing us in with her hypnotising powers
Now would be the perfect time to go on bended knees
“Betty, I love you, will you marry me please?”
Her face lights up with extreme joy and elation
She’s trying not to laugh but I can see the temptation
I focus all my attention on her
“I’m not getting up until I have an answer”
