A Let Down
Transcend slumber
Peering into dreams
The light is blinding
The very fabric of time
I walk the line
The fine line
Between
Asleep
Awake
Who can identify
The soul well-kept?
I am utterly useless
In my shadowy hideaway
In the abyss of ignorance
I could scarcely tell
The sunrise
from
The sunset
I watched to see
Rather the stars
Opened their eyes
Or closed them
I rocked shut
My excursion
Ended prematurely
The allusion dripped
From the sky
"I've let me down again"
My conscious sighs.
