I am Still Cynical
It is dark and lonesome,.
In time it can be sorted out,.
Rearrange the lights to shine in the hallways,.
Maybe light torches when we are outside,.
Set fire to the forests that hide the bears,.
They constantly claw their way in,.
Take away their house and offer them ours,.
Become a better person by getting over the past,.
There is nothing you can do,.
But set fire to the homes you lived in before,.
They mean nothing to you now,.
The memories still carry in your mind,.
The physical aspects can be left behind.,.

Hello Mogwai and welcome to our little corner of cacophony, words, wit and self styled infamy. Haha I carefully went over this a few times, trying to peer inside your metaphors. I find it quite interesting. These three lines really grabbed me.

They mean nothing to you now,. "
It makes me think of this memorization technique I have read about called the memory palace. People who sharpen their recollection by building rooms in their mind, populated in a dream like fashion with objects that represent certain experiences. It's a concept that is beyond me, but still fascinating. Our memories are indeed like houses we inhabit and when we return and linger there, it can stunt our moving forward. Setting fire to the past is a great concept. Enjoyed pondering this.
