I agree with a lot of this but as much as the past can haunt I think the past is also there to teach us things. Sometimes letting it shape your future is okay, but it's finding that line between valuable lessons and being trapped in paranoia, fear, pain, or all of the above. Excellent write though, there is a lot of truth in here. Last stanza is my favourite. I think it freaks a lot of people out to know that they can't entirely control their future but it's true. Unpredictability will always exist.

David, I am always one to say "everything happens for a reason"...reasons which are predetermined I believe by something much higher than us...already mapped out....that being said, other than the last stanza being incredible, this one was my favorite for the very reason...
