The Farmer
I said to her
as I shed a tear
I'm sorry there'll be
no harvest this year
I pointed to the
once tilled sod
overgrown
with both weeds and fear
Feeling alone and shamed
for the Earth I cleared
But did not sow
though I was so near
She put my hand on my heart
said hold this here
You are the farmer
this is your field
She put my hand on my head
to show my brain was near
Said your thoughts are your seeds
be aware of what you feel
She put my hand on my spine
I felt divine it was clear
Said this is your Sun
let your glow appear
I saw the dirt on my soul
Envisioned those I could feed
She said There you go
Now, go grow my dear
as I shed a tear
I'm sorry there'll be
no harvest this year
I pointed to the
once tilled sod
overgrown
with both weeds and fear
Feeling alone and shamed
for the Earth I cleared
But did not sow
though I was so near
She put my hand on my heart
said hold this here
You are the farmer
this is your field
She put my hand on my head
to show my brain was near
Said your thoughts are your seeds
be aware of what you feel
She put my hand on my spine
I felt divine it was clear
Said this is your Sun
let your glow appear
I saw the dirt on my soul
Envisioned those I could feed
She said There you go
Now, go grow my dear
