In The Shadows

In the shadows I safely be
Looking out in admiration
Loving everything I can see
But there'll be no exposition

Bury my feelings deep within
They're better off un-expressed
They'll rot away inside me
My heart a wretched mess

For once I had a soul so warm
Till the coldness took its toll
Now I'm anger filled,withdrawn
Colder as the ages roll

Here is something new and strange
It's a punch below the belt
Truly un-ready for this change
But anytime I see her my heart melts

In the shadows I must remain
Keep my feeling away from light
Less these demons drive me again
To chase my own selfish delight
