seventeen moments
before the now
the taiga has come alive
deafening beats of high bass
time for cold fusion
for bodies of magma
sakatas fall silent
so does the forest
the scream
a sonic boom
he waited seventeen years
now back to ash
she knew where to find him
now

I’m in full respect of anybody who writes erotica in a subtle way. It’s such a skill that is so often overlooked, especially here.
I like the open-ended nature of the end of the poem. You wonder where it goes and that’s the sign of a good read for me. It pulls me to think beyond the story that is presented on the page.
