Hidden Connection

Hidden in the depth of memory    
A spirit lies dormant    
Until something ignites a spark    
And unleashes an uncontrollable torrent    
     
When the butterflies swirling inside    
All at once begin to bite    
I suddenly shudder and gasp    
While my body fills with delight    
     
The sensation stops me instantly    
And I let the feelings rush in    
The chills begin to cascade in waves
I am reminded soul connections never end
   
I close my eyes, free my mind    
And savor every tingle    
Titillating passion and desire of the past    
Surge forward in excitement and mingle    
     
Bridging the gap between space and time  
With bonded souls’ reflection    
I open my eyes, smile, and sigh    
And cherish that hidden connection
