Behind A Blank Stare And A Hollow, Empty Smile

I spark the fire, breathe it in
and for awhile, I'm free again
but behind this smile I wear a frown
‘cos I know I'll be coming down
but I still hide behind the smile
no worries for a little while
this emptiness I felt before
it doesn't matter anymore

destroy my fears, erase my doubts
until again I'm running out
and then I won't, I can't endure
I'll find a way to find some more
my life means nothing, empty now
my friends don't ever come around
but I won't let it bother me
I'll get another bag of weed

it's times like these I realize
that I've done nothing with my life
I've chased a love I'll never know
and gave my demons space to grow
and now it seems to stay alive
I have to try and kill my mind
leave myself for a little while
behind this hollow, empty smile
