Letter To A Thief

Dear Thief

You have stolen away a lifetime from me and my family
I don't know how to approach this respectfully
You have blood on your hands from now through eternity
and deserve to live your life regretfully

His heart was stolen along with his smile
We can't enjoy each other no more or even talk for awhile
Instead, we are counting fears, countless tears, and
counting the days as they grow into countless years

You have stolen the fire from the flame
the won from the game
and the blood from the soiled stains
and our lives will never be the same

You want me to mask my memory
of this tragedy and let you be
to be free and you ain't even sorry
well you didn't say it to me
and you had the opportunity

Do you know that they wanted to medicate me by injection
With a syringe of educated words for my depression
But isn't it normal for me to mourn with affection
Do you know the answer to this question

We have suffered a permanent loss
and not by any cost
are you able to reunite a body to the soul
reconnect a king to his gold
or attach a crease back to its fold

So, Hold this letter with your stained hands close to your heart
and pray that no one steals your family apart.
It will strip your soul to its cores.
Seriously yours
