For All
We are all strangers
Yet in here we bare all
We recognize the dangers
Set up for a fall
Still we persist
Revealing our hands
Expression too real to resist
A release it demands
Words paint these pictures
A portrait of each soul
Each work a different mixture
Pieces of a whole
Your lives, dear poets, spill out on page
As I am sure mine does all the same
Begging freedom from a shackled cage
Liberation gained from a made up name
To know you is to know me
Self-discovery in another’s pen
To feel you is to feel free
Connection in the ultimate Zen
I want to feel every heart break, every curse
Every soft embrace and encouraging smile
Breathe life back into me with every verse
Bring the light back into my eyes for awhile
Thank you all for sharing your lives.
