Shot down the road
A shell is all I've ever known,
but I've never been a cowboy;
the bar has never been my home,
but i sure could hold one down(shots/drink);
the doc could never cure my aches,
the shots with empty guns I'd take;
A shell is all I've ever known,
man I've never been around;
I've seen so many of her face,
I couldn't help but feel misplaced;
A stranger in a crazy place,
that we all know as town;
I've seen her on the silver screen,
then after later in a dream;
I wake to walk the road once more;
the aches my insides do endure;
of course I'd have to just ignore,
the fact, no knocking at this door;
the bar is high, my coins are low;
I'll watch the dancers on the floor;
A shell is all I've ever known;
I'm different from the crowd;
I notice art, just not in war;
my body's prone to feeling sore;
quick draws at every corner store;
while all I picture, is amore;
but god knows I just cant afford,
the goddess all the guys adore....
