Discarded
Tossed like crumpled fast food wrappers
Left in cars in boiling summer heat
Melted chesee and mustard stains
Wasted
Not folded neatly and placed in boxes
Like clothes for a donation bin
Destined for repurpose
Erased
No kind words left on whiteboards
Nor Steno pads or Post-its
Only black smears and adhesive residue
Forgotten
As 4th grade water color art
Stuffed in a box in a dusty attic
Losing importance and meaning
Decaying
An unkept garden yields no crops
Barren wasteland serves a reminder
Tend to things that truly matter

In my family I'm known as the Recycle Police. I related to this one. We take too much for granted and think little of the waste we're making when so many have so little. I recycle, reuse and repurpose at every opportunity. Enjoyed this one
