Drenched Thoughts
Raindrops trickle for what seems
more than a lifetime
Drenched the worm wiggles
out in the open gasping for life
hoping to avoid the early bird
but he was too late
for the early riser was the fisher
who would use him as bait
Impaled on the edge of a hook
splitting in two to get away from you
but too late
thrown with the wind
to the sea
begging "someone rescue me"
Drenched the worm wiggles
seeing his fate
at the jaws of defeat
But the rain trickles harder
and with the hook he is spit
washed in with the tide
swallowing his pride
he lies on the shore
but knows what's in store
up in the dark sky
angry birds circle high
more than a lifetime
Drenched the worm wiggles
out in the open gasping for life
hoping to avoid the early bird
but he was too late
for the early riser was the fisher
who would use him as bait
Impaled on the edge of a hook
splitting in two to get away from you
but too late
thrown with the wind
to the sea
begging "someone rescue me"
Drenched the worm wiggles
seeing his fate
at the jaws of defeat
But the rain trickles harder
and with the hook he is spit
washed in with the tide
swallowing his pride
he lies on the shore
but knows what's in store
up in the dark sky
angry birds circle high
