Anyone For a Riddle About Easter ?

Christ was crucified on a Friday(Luke 23.54).
He rose from the dead the following Sunday.morning.
There are two nights between those two points: Friday night and Saturday night.
But before He died, Christ had said that "The Son of Man will be in the heart of the Earth three days and three nights"(Matthew 12.40).

Three nights, not just two.
So what about that additional night?
Well, since He spent only two nights in the tomb,
we are forced to look for some other place that would fit the description, "heart of the Earth."
So we turn to Thursday night.
We find that on that night Christ was arrested and "taken to the house of the high priest"(Luke 22.54).
The high priest doubled as a judge.
So defendants awaiting trial were kept in holding cells in the basement of his house.
Finally, since the basement, by definition, was far below the surface of the ground,
it is qualified to be called "the heart of the earth."
So we have found the answer to the riddle!!
The night in the jail cell, combined with the two nights in the tomb add up to "three nights in the heart of the earth."

PS: the only reason I know about the dungeons below the high priest's house is because I visited Israel in March of 1973.
And those jail cells were among the sites
we saw as tourists.
