Bones Of My Bones

I must’ve met you in the past life for your soul once touched mine. We were both child of the soil; and we have tasted the spring from the ocean where the eternal dream emerges.
When nothing moves anywhere let my heart carry thee to where our memories beckon from the future.
Love has given life and meaning to our bones.
Quiet the mind,
quiet the soul…
listen tatata,
the raindrops fall as we embrace in each other’s arms in this lucid dream.
The skies rumble and roar a sign of approval from Aphrodite herself.
I would bet my numbered breaths that you are more than time allows,
because even though you were my end,
you,
my dear darling,
are infinite.

Everything in my life has a piece of you,
your beautiful ways and love you shared made beautiful days. When our light dimmed, when our love ceased to exist,
the only thing that kept us together…
ceased to persist.
I find myself waiting for you by the door but no one comes here anymore.
I might as well title this poem ‘Death of a Poet’,
"for a poet dies not when he loses the will to live but when he loses the will to write".
It only took one day to fall in-love with you but endless to fall out of love.
The pain of reality fills my mind, anguished thoughts are constant, and it slowly consumes my heart as my soul turns icy cold.
Is it me or have we become nothing more than beautiful ghosts of an ugly love’s bitter end?

I have died a million deaths inside and "three different times I begged the Lord to take it away each time he said,
"My grace is all you need.
My power works best in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:810).
