vibrating differently
Lea knew that her cells were vibrating different from the others’.
She arranged her face to tell a story about worrying about homework and decimals,
But it was only his face that came to mind.
only his face that played, that swam,
On the back of her eyelids,
as she slept, as she woke.
Life continued.
Decisions to be made,
College applications...
But none of it seemed to matter.
None of it could hold a candle to the vibrancy she felt leaping inside,
when she felt his hand, his face....
She was loved. She was chosen.
There was a gravity to it that sent the rest of her soaring away from her body,
and away from all the technicalities of her existence--
It was like she was living on a separate planet.
it was like she was the first and only one to ever fall in love
and knowing that that wasn't true didn't change a thing.
there was no heartbreak, only love’s fever,
there was no daybreak, only endless dripping night….
Others went in and out of passions
But she remained, locked under the embracing weight of it all.
She knew she was free in a way the others could not imagine.
she had a place in the world.
They grounded each other in rightness and belongingness,
co journeyers, soaring together,
tied to each other, to each other only and nothing else
the ecstasy transcendent,
It was difficult to remember or understand
that anything else made nearly as much sense...
