Cognition and Emotion

Meil, last night I watched the Mel Gibson version of "Hamlet" for about the 20th time and your piece reminds me of the profound words of Hamlet to Horatio, "There are more things in heaven and Earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy" Our lives are driven by so many intangibles. Feelings, emotions, stories to name a few. Sometimes the invisible is much more real than the visible, empirical reason. Brava!

"Faculties of consciousness"  ... yes, there's so much more than just the strict divide between rational/intellect, and instinct/emotions

Thanks Josh.  This one is not quite finished for me but I wanted some feedback as I struggle with objective data analysis and my subjective emotions...if that makes sense:)  

Since the advent of quantum physics, it's been known there is no such thing  strictly as 'objectivity'. Our mere presence alters what we 'see' (interpret as what we see). The question then seems to be, if all is subjective experience, then how can this be the basis for finding common ground? To answer that, a fuller model is needed (eg: If faculties of consciousness are seen to include Will, Soul, Inspiration, Intuition, Imagination, Instinct, Intellect and Body (8 aspects of ourselves) then the picture of life can be so much richer).
