A Short Version of an Earlier Poem
The earlier work was about America's arsenal.
I explained how it is no longer large enuff to deter Russian Attack.
But i took up too many lines.
A lot of people just wont abide long long poems.
So here's the Reader's Digest version.
We have a three part retaliatory nuke arsenal.
We tell the Kremlin, If you hit us, we will bomb you back.
So, naturally, the Kremlin's top goal is to destroy all 3 "legs" of our arsenal.
Or accomplish "the equivalent" of destroying them.
When Russia gets us ourselves to reduce the missiles on our subs,
(thru disarmament agreements)
that's what i mean by "the equivalent."
But besides actual disarmament there is also "backdoor" disarmament.
Where we KEEP the missiles but make it a rule not to USE them.
THAT is what has happened with two legs of our nuke arsenal !!!
(1)Our ICBMs have to be launched within 6 minutes.
Otherwise we risk losing them to incoming missiles from Russian subs.
But ever since Bill Clinton was president, the new policy had been to NOT launch our ICBMs immediately -- for fear that the Russian Attack may be instead our computers malfunctioning.
LSS: our ICBMs might as well not even exist !!
(2)The other leg of our once-mighty Triad that no longer exists for all practical purposes is our strategic bombers.
All of our 100 or so B52s and our 100 or so B1s, and 2/3 of our 18 B2 Stealths are NO LONGER ON ALERT STATUS.
They are not ready to take off within the "6 minutes" time frame.
To be blunt, they are "sitting ducks."
So now you see that 2 legs of our arsenal are worthless -- as a Deterrent.
Because they can no longer keep the Kremlin at bay,
We must expect Russian Attack in the IMMEDIATE FUTURE !!!
Actually those 2 legs have been worthless for DECADES already -- without Russian Attack materializing.
So what makes Russian Attack more likely now is what has happened to the last remaining leg.--our subs.
We've always had more, way more, than 1,300 warheads on the missiles on our Boomer subs.
But Obama's "New Start Treaty" has changed that.
We now have only 1,120 warheads on our 8 subs at sea.
But Russia has enuff ABMs to shoot down 1,300 warheads, reportedly.
So, our having fewer than 1,300 warheads = an invitation to the Kremlin to take action -- make war, even NUCLEAR WAR !!!
