A Week Of Monday Mornings
I’ve just had a week of Monday mornings
Anything that could go wrong went wrong
Why is it when everything’s against you
The whole week seems too long
I’ve avoided walking under ladders
And when I needed luck I knocked on wood
I picked up a penny and passed on the luck
But that didn’t do me any good
I scalded my arm on the kettle
And stubbed my big toe on the bed
Left a cupboard door open
And ended up banging my head
Putting the shopping away
I dropped a can of soup on my foot
When I tore a sheet out of my writing pad
I was left with a painful paper-cut
When Saturday at last arrived
I breathed a sigh of relief
When you have a week of Monday mornings
Your bad luck is beyond belief
Anything that could go wrong went wrong
Why is it when everything’s against you
The whole week seems too long
I’ve avoided walking under ladders
And when I needed luck I knocked on wood
I picked up a penny and passed on the luck
But that didn’t do me any good
I scalded my arm on the kettle
And stubbed my big toe on the bed
Left a cupboard door open
And ended up banging my head
Putting the shopping away
I dropped a can of soup on my foot
When I tore a sheet out of my writing pad
I was left with a painful paper-cut
When Saturday at last arrived
I breathed a sigh of relief
When you have a week of Monday mornings
Your bad luck is beyond belief
