In my flawed self.
He couldn't possibly see
The emotions and truest thoughts
Beyond all else
This obtuse human boy could never see
The beauty in my flawed self
I go back and forth with him
We toss jokes and pale half-made dreams
Though with no one but him I've ever felt
I know that this dream isn't mine to keep
For who but only God above
Could see past the flaws
In my flawed self?
He and I have danced
(For I was the one that taught him)
My favorite waltz was being played
And when I looked in his dark eyes
I somehow felt
That it's more likely for me
To meet a fairy and an elf
Than for him to see past
All the flaws
In my flawed self.
The emotions and truest thoughts
Beyond all else
This obtuse human boy could never see
The beauty in my flawed self
I go back and forth with him
We toss jokes and pale half-made dreams
Though with no one but him I've ever felt
I know that this dream isn't mine to keep
For who but only God above
Could see past the flaws
In my flawed self?
He and I have danced
(For I was the one that taught him)
My favorite waltz was being played
And when I looked in his dark eyes
I somehow felt
That it's more likely for me
To meet a fairy and an elf
Than for him to see past
All the flaws
In my flawed self.
