Doggie is Home

She had to stay a few extra days at the Vet
It was a good thing too
She's pretty sore and walking slow
She needs time now to regain her mojo

The look on her face was classic
When she exited the exam room
She's never been away from us in 15 years
We covered her in kisses and rubbed her floppy ears

Took her home in her wagon
City folk that we are, no car
Our awesome dog walker carried her upstairs
She drank water immediately, that lovely slurping sound

She's an old dog with youthful spirit
Still a lot of mettle and courage
Some more heath battles ahead
Appetite good though, I'll take it

She's home now to our care
Good food in her bowl
Comfy bed, long naps, loved .......
