God works mystery through you
Aware when on your knees
Accesses something deep within
Shines a path when you seize
Forgotten grace from the past
You are reminded of your worth
Carries when it’s hard to bear
Clarifies your place on earth
Former students at your gate
Proving differences made
Reveals your mother at your door
Advising, life is not laid
Repairs the strength of family
Reinforced, sturdy again
Marks gratitude for those you love
Fortitude of friends
Encourages a simple peace
Implores “You are not broken”
Holds a hand, feel the warmth
Through spirit, words unspoken

I really enjoyed the sentiment of this, Mel. I like spiritual verses reiterating hope. I know you requested critique, but rhyme, structure, meter, etc is more Johnny's hobbyhorse than mine.

Mel, this is a refreshing hope-filled piece. You speak beautifully of spiritual truths. I love this passage: "He clarifies your place on earth" The idea hat we all have a purpose is a powerful reality. And that we all make a difference in others lives either for good or ill. I am comforted by the simple yet profound statement, "You are not broken." There are so many suffering that need to hear that. I am reminded of one of my favorite verses from Henry Ward Beecher:
"So God sits, effulgent, in heaven, not for a favored few, but for the universe of life, and there is no creature so poor or low that he may not look up with childlike confidence, and say, "My father! thou art mine."
