To Never Love Honour and Obey
I believe love conquers all
Within minutes you made me fall
But I don’t believe marriage is the key
To being happy for eternity
Should I give in and take you whole
Should I repent and fulfil my role
To love, honour and obey
And wake up next to you each day
Will it extinguish the fiery passion?
Replaced with comfortable compassion
Should I lose all of my mystery?
And let the crazy nights be history
Should I trust in you completely?
While you fantasise over others discreetly
Should I believe a love lasts forever?
When my emotions change like the weather
Living in sin suits me just fine
Knowing that I can escape, anywhere, anytime
I’m not willing to lose myself just to never be alone
I think I’ll do just fine on my own
Sometimes I see others in marital bliss
And feel myself wanting that wish
Maybe I could be one of those romantics
Then I remind myself of the divorce statistics
Within minutes you made me fall
But I don’t believe marriage is the key
To being happy for eternity
Should I give in and take you whole
Should I repent and fulfil my role
To love, honour and obey
And wake up next to you each day
Will it extinguish the fiery passion?
Replaced with comfortable compassion
Should I lose all of my mystery?
And let the crazy nights be history
Should I trust in you completely?
While you fantasise over others discreetly
Should I believe a love lasts forever?
When my emotions change like the weather
Living in sin suits me just fine
Knowing that I can escape, anywhere, anytime
I’m not willing to lose myself just to never be alone
I think I’ll do just fine on my own
Sometimes I see others in marital bliss
And feel myself wanting that wish
Maybe I could be one of those romantics
