Left for Dead
Can you hear my voice?
Can you hear it calling out to you?
Am I making enough noise
or can't you hear me at all?
I'm falling deeper in this hole,
gravity pulls me deeper into dark despair.
I'm falling so fast I cannot even cry.
Grab me by the hand and pull me back up there!
I'm deep underground in the darkness.
You just waved goodbye!
I wasn't important enough for you, I guess
I will have to climb out myself
though I can't see the soft ground on which I lie.
It is cold but I begin to climb,
digging my fingers into the muddy wall
screaming, crying- hoping someone will hear my call.
Just as I climb a few metres,
a brick lands on my head.
I manage to hold my grip on the wall and look up
as another brick falls from above.
I lose my grip and land at the bottom on the sandy bed.
The walls were crumbling over me
and rocks were landing on my body and head
I was being buried and left for dead...
Can you hear it calling out to you?
Am I making enough noise
or can't you hear me at all?
