Dear Depression
Hello, old fried
how nice it is to see you again
I can always count on you
can’t I?
to drag down the sun and
blot out the moon
sending death to my door
and pain to my skin
still you stand
firm; persistent
a voice within a voice
encouraging, biting
screaming
there are days when you are silent
oh! how merciful the sound
when light shines down
as if a god has blessed the day
for shame, I don’t believe in gods
yet, my devils still remain
welcome back home, Depression
I do hope you enjoy your stay
how nice it is to see you again
I can always count on you
can’t I?
to drag down the sun and
blot out the moon
sending death to my door
and pain to my skin
still you stand
firm; persistent
a voice within a voice
encouraging, biting
screaming
there are days when you are silent
oh! how merciful the sound
when light shines down
as if a god has blessed the day
for shame, I don’t believe in gods
yet, my devils still remain
welcome back home, Depression
I do hope you enjoy your stay
