The Butterfly Words

only words carried on the wings of a butterfly
wings soft and supple against my broken lips
on thoughts, bare the weight mightier than the famed sword
braver than the cowardly guns burning kiss, and
harder than any fists pain will bring forth, for
though the wounds may all heal on skin leaving only scar
the tender remains being hard to miss, it is the
words flown by on the tender wings of a butterfly
resting, essentially peaceful in the mind
haunt every action forever we may take
only words carried on the wings of a butterfly
can be heavier than any other pain I bring
