Missed Her, Sandman

The bastard king composing me
A melody for sleep
A tale and revelry
A never-ending dream
And living in this hell I see
White sails and heavens beams
Black wells and seven seas
Nine veils and nothing seen

A turtle shell upheld between the realms forever green

Now tell me, do you believe
In the invisible heart on which you lean
Because the bottom line is a heaven-sent thing,
Is interred in still water that's ever deep and churning
Turning the wheels of the dark beneath, that your feet can't reach
So, with your head in the clouds, you won't notice when teeth get you
Or discern the gears of the machine from the mouth of the Beast
You're being devoured inside, you will digest this I mean

So far you've avoided going so low

So don't ask questions
Best to save your breath
Know, no we're not there yet
Guess we'll take the next exit
Lord knows where we're going, but we'll get there in peace
Is the vessel we left in the one that we're leaving though?

'Cause I'll be damned if that's a man in the rearview, not a signpost

Well damn, I can't take my advice
Only time will tell if you or I make it out alive
What I want you to remember I'll be telling you twice
Rest in peace but WAKE UP!
But wake up in peace or die
