Things you learn through languages

When you learn a language
any language
Be it mandrin or Klingon
it's always interesting

The subtle nuances
in everyday talk
reveal some insight
it shows you a glimpse of how people think

A new language
in both the figurative and literal sense
opens up a whole new world
it does 2 ways

Number 1
You pick up subtle differences in accents
Chinese does not and will never sound like Japanese
I only know this because i watch a lot of their videos

Number 2
It shows you how a culture works
The words used often cultural knowledge
It is difficult to learn about a language
and not have a better understanding of the countries culture

BUT
Should you choose a new language
Please know now
That it takes time to learn

The process will fry your brain
It does take some getting used to
especially when speaking it
There arent really any shortcuts

It is highly rewarding though
I speak from experience
I have been learning Japanese for 6 months now
and I still make an idiot of myself

Hopefully it has been an encouraging piece
about learning languages in general
and if you want to learn another one
Do it
