The Dancing of The Dead
Birthing my new abrasions
A rainfall of insomnia
A flood of inebriation
Tumbling down rotten stairs
Manic-depressive walls
Touching ingrown hair
Burning themselves down
Bathing in the ooze of
Rancid infections
An endless stream
Of pus and mucus
Ceiling decorated with
Black, charred spoons
Spelling out "laughter"
These errily quiet days
Are always filled with funerals
Dancing bats and singing spiders
The hymn of schizophrenic streets
Dead by dusk, dancing by dawn.
A rainfall of insomnia
A flood of inebriation
Tumbling down rotten stairs
Manic-depressive walls
Touching ingrown hair
Burning themselves down

Rancid infections

Seems that was quite the popular line, I am glad you liked it Jasper. I wish I could say what inspired the line, but I honestly do not know. I appreciate your stopping by for a read.

Thank you, Sy. I am glad you thought it was good, that means a lot. I've been going over in my head where I came up with that line at, but I honestly don't know, it just sort of spilled out, I love it when that happens! I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment:)

This was dark, I tend to never really realize how dark my poems can be until I read them after I've posted them. Thank you for stopping by Grace, I am always honored to know that you read me:)

Did you know 'rancid' is one of my favorite words phonically, although i have few others but this is my favorite, the sound and the way it flows from the tongue despite its meaning ofcourse.
Anon, i always say this to you and i will say it again, you have a gift in taking dark imagery and giving it substance and depth that the reader inclines to go there with you, wanting more.
This is amazing, i feel like i crawled in some dark corner (of your mind) and the thriller is neverending.

I did not know that, I had heard you say that 'avenue' is one of your favorites if memory serves right. Rancid one of my favorites, 'putrid' is one as well, I'd say 'feather' is my top favorite, like I go out of my way to say it. I am glad you liked this, I will say I think my best poems are the dark ones, it's just my wheelhouse I guess. Thank you so much for reading and commenting Vee. I greatly appreciate it.

'Avenue' is actually Mr. Kexby's favorite who has been my mentor right from the start. Perhaps you read my mention of it under a poem i dedicated for him. It's so interesting how each person gravitates towards a word, sometimes its the sound and at times its a memory of it in relation to an experience or incident. and now i know yours...lol its pretty cool Anon :)

Good way of describing it, it's a trippy nightmare, based on a real place that seems so desolate and rotted that it doesn't seem real. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for reading and leaving your thoughts!:) ~anonshadow😏
