MORNING AFTER THOUGHTS
When intercourse had taken place,
I gazed at his now-sleeping face,
Reflecting we’d come a long way
From first meeting to roll in hay.
Then wondered; was the struggle worth
Seeming to move heaven and earth
To find time together, alone,
With no shared place to call our own?
Not wanting other folk to know
How far we were about to go.
Booked hotel room, my (borrowed) ring,
Would be the cover for our fling.
He was gentle yet firm with me
As he took my virginity.
But, having known women before,
He soothed the aching at my core.
He proved quite an expert petter,
Passion of me got the better.
I cleaved unto his manly frame,
Not caring now about “good name”.
After the pleasure came the rub;
He might have got me in the club.
There would now be no turning back;
He’d spilled his seed within my crack.
I now wondered what I would say
If there WAS a child on the way?
He’d led me into this affair,
Saying if things happened he’d care.
For the first time in our affair
I wondered what life could we share?
I wanted to ask “Tell the truth –
Do you want us under one roof?”
He slept so sound at break of day,
I might as well be miles away.
“Moment’s pleasure, lifetime’s regret”:
At that thought my eyes became wet.
When he first stirred my eyes had dried,
I asked, in his ear, from his side:
"Do you still love me?" Moon shone bright.
He answered, "Yes", then held me tight.
