The Cat at our Feet
I'm sinking
Deeper into
The crevasse
Of your arm
Sinking deeper
Into contentment
Saying over and over
In my mind
That I'm happy
You're here
God knows that
In a strange way
I needed you
And you needed
Me
So we lay
With the cat
At our feet
Thinking we are
Happy
But not breaking
The silence
Because we know
It won't be
Much longer
I'll leave
As quick as
You said hello
