Notes

 She adds a note to his lunch
Because she has been doing it forever
And when it is her turn to make lunches
She likes to do this little thing
And it still feels like the right thing to do
For the man she loves
The note is only one line today
But says all there is that needs to be said
And she knows that he will smile
So she stands at the counter
And smiles herself
Even after so long they are in love
And almost more importantly
They are in lust as well
That deep want that keeps the other
Excited and exciting
That feeling will sometimes drift away
And things can become common
And every day normal
But they have kept it strong and vibrant
And it’s as easy to do
As leaving a note that says
I want you
In his lunch
And then proving it
When they both arrive home from work
