The Fifth Flavor
Of all I've known, loneliness is a fashion.
Pain is a girl scout patch.
But don't make yourself strong.
Don't run to wherever the bullets are at.
Strength is necessity, and privilege would be that you could be asleep
for a while.
Why don't you bury yourself in open arms?
Tell me that you told yourself that I'll see her again.
Not because of pump and timing,
but because it's a future that makes sense
to the dormant tree buds,
that winter should end with spring
and strength should have its levels.
If my hand can rub away
a day of misery,
take my hand.
It's no use to me.
If you feel like a child, don't be alarmed.
It means that you have found yourself again
in a magic mirror, maybe through my spectacles
and you have conquered your strength
that was only hurt in a cashmere sports blazer.
You know how you feel
if even for a moment of opportune days
on the by and by.
