Loved

A silly fight and vast silences
Still played a dirge in her memory
To which her emotions trudged along
So with practiced motions she opened her journal
And wrote something that he would never see
But that she hoped he would know
Whether she had been right or wrong
Mattered little to her now
She just needed something
A sign from him
To know she was loved still
With all of his heart
And that he was not angry anymore
Something simple would do
Just a few flowers and maybe
A paper butterfly or two mixed in
Since he knew just how she loved them so
Anything like that would be enough to know
All that she needed to know
Even after a stupid fight like they’d had
She doesn’t want to be sad anymore
She doesn’t want to be mad anymore
She just wants to feel loved
Again
