Perversions of blue
I saw the silhouette of a soldier
beneath an indigo moon,
besieged by a prussian halo of sadness.
I tasted the color of passion on my tongue
and bathed in the warmth of his tears as they
became mine.
Chalybeous gems are a delicacy upon my cheeks
and he craves the pallet of our madness,
devouring the trails with hungry intent.
In our desparation, sorrow is cerulean
wetness upon silken pallor,
claimed in a bed of sullen vows.
Obsession and loneliness war within his heart.
Purple and cicatricial, it beats in time
to an endless symphony.
When poetry flows from the depths of his soul,
it lies abandoned upon an otherwise empty page
and his compulsion drives him like a runaway train,
straight through the core of his melancholy.
We must neither name it nor speak of love,
for love is too obscure to possess.
A connection of souls is vast, unable
to thwart a lover's lost kiss and I
am savagely impaled by gentian perfidia.

two drifters in a wayward wind
by chance find each other -
what is there, Kas?

It's as if though, two lovers find peace through painting a connection on a blank canvas with nothing but the tearful colors of emotional scars.
Great work! Very unique. The imagery this brings to mind, is truly, like no other that I've read.
Definitely, a fine piece of art for advanced readers.
As far as critique goes, there are a few spelling errors sprinkled throughout
Besieged, Indigo, loneliness

So much color and depth in your art, Kasai. Yet again, you prove that words...poetry...are never simply black and white. You bring them brilliantly to life in full-bloomed color, always. Beautiful... :)

So amazing the way you refer to this as art, if I had the time I would paint it myself.
So sweet of you, Willow, thank you...

Lines like "Obsession and loneliness war within his heart." would seem banal in lesser poems, but you surround them with a strong and authentic love story, so they feel genuine, and possess the power the author intends to give them. This is a sweet and starry-eyed love song, warm and hopeful and painful all at once. Thank you for the read.

Warm, hopeful, and painful, indeed, just as it was meant to be. So glad the emotion was expressed correctly and again, I thank you for sharing an honest opinion.

Another amazing poem, dear Kasai!
"Obsession and loneliness war within his heart" > in this heart as well...
I'm not that good with commenting lately, but I'm sure next time I'll have more words

No worries, kind lady, your words are felt. I get that way too sometimes, like writer's block. Forcing it is useless.
Thanks for the visit, Duende...

We must neither name it nor speak of love,
for love is too obscure to possess.
Indeed, Kas. I felt the divine and the human in this through the pain of love and hope. You have a very innocent way of expression that's refreshing.

This has a boldness, complexity and depth; each line seemingly to have its own in contributing to an intricate story as a whole that is enticing and interesting.......

Oh thank you love, just thank you!
You've written an absolutely remarkable piece of art and placed it so delicately in it's place in such a methodical and almost OCD manner. Thank you.
I learned a new word today "Chalybeous" thanks to you, my vocabulary is little darker and has some metal to it. Not to mention a word stonger. Thank YOU so so much!

You flatter me, so glad you could take something from this. Perhaps poetry is a compulsion for the creative mind, what an interesting thought. The hunt for new words is a journey well worth travelling, thank you for taking it with me and thanks for the lovely comment as well...
