Cost of Greatness

I've been showed many roads to greatness
Only one helped me past fates test
Over time I had to empty a lot off my chest
However I still think myself to be truly blessed
In life I only wish to move in the right direction
I move down this road of life with little discretion
On the road to greatness many surely go insane  
Because they develop problems with no one to blame
Many pains have hit me and I went to my knees
Other times I've felt higher than the greatest trees
Sometimes I felt abandoned and even lost
At roads end and it was well worth the cost
