> Phoenix <
the fire still burns
as she spread her wings
ready to take a flight
she takes a breath
and the smell of new life
incites her fiery spirit
the hunt begins
as she looks for a prey
to satisfy her need
she picks a target
and dances around him
longing for his flesh
she draws him close
and unleashes the beast
awakening his hunger
aroused by her scent
his excitement increases
evoking carnal desires
he circles around her
and then rips off her wings
her naked body shivers
he pushes her down
and starts to devour her
eager to eat her alive
she put up a fight
turns her nails into knives
as teeth pierce her skin
they struggle a while
before she finally gives up
surrendering her being
driven by nature
they feed off each other
to satisfy primal lust
roars fill the night
as their bodies on fire
erupt like a volcano
exhausted they rest
but her instinct takes over
unquenchable as she is
she repairs her wings
and continues the hunt
her fire burns again
as she spread her wings
ready to take a flight
she takes a breath
and the smell of new life
incites her fiery spirit
the hunt begins
as she looks for a prey
to satisfy her need
she picks a target
and dances around him
longing for his flesh
she draws him close

O....I love this! 💓
Such a feisty, raw passionate piece. One with such deep meaning behind every word.
The hunt to quench the insatiable needs, yet....the heart lingers, dangling within the mix.
Amazing imagery.
Great ink, sweet Duende.

Thank you so much for your comment, Chivo!
Great to hear you love this one! To be honest... I never planned it to turn out like this (I really wanted to write about rebirth) but the words went this way... must be a result of my overactive mind and imagination ;-)

I understand that feeling. Many of mine end up taking twists and turns of their own. I've written a few about rebirth/phoenix. It's a topic that I really enjoy writing about.

I will have a look at your work... always love to read rebirth related poetry!
Was planning on reading more of you anyway, but that will come!

The phoenix will not be extinguished, putting up a heroic fight to rise once more. A thrilling and predatory erotic from a fledgling poet soon to catch fire herself. Impressive!

Hey Naajir, I'm so glad to hear you love this one!
I am always honored by your comments :-)
You made me smile by mentioning those two stanzas, because I really like them!
I knew I had to put some references to Phoenix in the poem as a reminder for the readers that I wasn't writing about a regular girl, so yeah... happy that you highlighted them :-)
Great to hear you love the pic... that one is very dear to me!
Thank you so much for your visit and feedback!

Powerful and destructive in her nature, she rises again...
Elegant and stunningly seductive all at once, it should have been posted long ago.
Very beautiful poetry, Duende...

Thank you so much for your comment, dear Kasai!
Elegant and stunningly seductive... I can't ask for more :-)
About not posting it long ago... I started writing just a few months ago and when I came here I was very insecure! Still am, but this site is giving me the self confidence I need to feel safe enough to post writings I'm hesitant about!
I really appreciate your visits and continuous support!
