Well, I Told You So

Well, I Told You So

Let no one say I didn’t tell you
Got so fed up repeating myself
Frustration built like constipation
It was like you were fuckin deaf
But it was surly selective deafness
You would only hear what suited you
You would never hear anything I said
It took me a long while to realise that
The deliberate nature of your deafness
Turned constipated frustration into rage
As the rage rolled in like thunder clouds
My logical mind parts started to make plans
On my own I consistently argued with myself
The rights and wrongs, my moral compass
I considered the sharpness of my words
I considered the sharpness of my knife
And now you just lie there, stiff and bloody
a lifeless cadaver, skin and bone, worm food
Repeatedly punctured, stabbed and slashed
Now having more perforations than a tea bag
There’s so much blood, so much blood
Normally people do not die from deafness
But you deserved to be the exception
This should be an important lesson
That almost everyone can learn from
Talking is fine but listening is more important
Open your ears with no selective filters
Or face the consequences
