We Can't Change Each Other
I am not meant to be tamed
Maybe I'm not meant for you
You flourish where your roots are
I rejuvenate brighter each time I uproot
A forest alive again after a raging fire
You are Mtn Dew sipping on a front porch
I am hands cupped in a babbling brook
Its wordless chatter sings to me
To chase the sun and the moon and stars
Aimless dreams and errant wandering
Never to rest my head
I am not meant to be tamed
All I wanted was for you to be wild like me too

Impressive imagery and simile for the soul hat is you!
You glow with the essence of a Phoenix...
but oh how hard it is to view
such a beautiful bird soar so frightfully high
Achieving the crest of blissful ascent
only to crash and burn into embers of hot coals
It's painful to see that scene in your poetry
repeating episodes on ME TV
but I can only imagine how he feels
being trapped inside his Twilight Zone
the co-star of your surreal final reel
wanting to save you from the climactic fate
Without feathers of his own to take flight by your side
A broken angel unable to follow where fallen angels fell
Yet feel the blazing heat of your burning desire
destroyed by a predictable script that begins in ash
and ends in brimstone's fire
I think I'm going to title that "Flight of the Phoenix"

Its never too late to change but you dont need to be tamed either. Channel the lioness inside to dig your claws in deeper and take him for a ride! ROAR!!!!!!!!
