If Colonial America was "a New Eden," Slavery is the Sin That Has Again Led to "the Fall of Man

Jefferson wrote "we have the chance to start the world over again"          
For America, green and lush, was pristine,untouched, even virgin,
A not yet ruined Eden - and on a continental scale.          
         
Continuing the metaphor, a serpent appeared          
In the form of black slavery.          
It offered the same thing that the serpent of Genesis 2-3 offered,          
A way to become "as the gods."          
By subjugating workers, making them lowly slaves,      
the masters saw themselves so superior, so ascendant,          
That they became almost godlike - in their own minds - by comparison..          
But God expelled the Fallen Adam and Eve from "the Garden of God,"      
 Putting a curse on them for their willful sinning - self-seeking -          
So too America became accursed suffering steep losses in the Civil War,          
What an expulsion from the dreamland they had prided themselves as worthy of.          
     
Blackness is the color associated with sin (fallenness)          
yet it wasn't the Blacks who sinned in terms of defending slavery.          
How ironic that it was the whites (the color of purity, innocence),          
Who were the ones with sin-darkened souls          
Who had to pay with the bloodshed of war for it !!!          
         
And the state of accursedness is not over yet.          
For Democrats in Washington are still trying to exploit Blacks.          
For they have shifted money from the military to "social programs"          
(As a way to buy Black votes, not because they care about them),      
Leaving us vulnerable to a devastating Russian Attack,      
due to our leaders decision to so shrink our nuclear arsenal  
That it no longer strikes fear in the heart of the Kremlin !!!         
Oh the cursedness that stems from our espousal of SLAVERY          
Both in the distant past and our present-day desire to bring it back,      
though in changed, unrecognizable form -- the welfare state.
