My Troubled Summer

My happiness falling like melting candle wax,
As your fits of one - sided rage drag me down.
Screaming into the stillness of the summer air,
As I struggle to express myself in a healthy way.
Too much craziness to live in,
I have to wade through your ugliness to reach the other
side.
Tear drop by tear drop builds bridges to this insincere
smile.
Pain fills each beat of my bleeding heart,
Fear fills these shining eyes staring straight at you.
A cloud of self debt rains on my multi – colored hair,
Lightening strikes my body, with reminder of destruction.
My black nails fade into the darkness of the night,
As I try to win your well sought for affection.
So confused by your signals,
Blinking red and flashing green.
Pained by the unstable foundation of a home,
Not able to open up to let you in----
My sturdy wall will not let you in.
Blocks all out except my music and me,
Caressed by each color of self expression,
Medicating all of my wounds,
Presiding over the funeral of my happy heart,
Cutting the ribbon of the opening of my troubled summer.
My happiness falling like melting candle wax,
As your fits of one – sided rage drag me down!
