Why does the sun shine so
On days so gray
On a battlefield
Covered in blood from the fray
And does one's heart beat so faintly
That death would come and
Carry away the body daintily
Oh cold is the sun that holds no meaning
Oh deep is the cut that comes from no blade
Oh weary is the man whose soul refuses cleaning
Oh quiet is the voice whose point has already been made
Does the sun not shine the way that it shone before
To me it does not, I am no more, no more
On days so gray
On a battlefield
Covered in blood from the fray
And does one's heart beat so faintly
That death would come and
Carry away the body daintily
Oh cold is the sun that holds no meaning
Oh deep is the cut that comes from no blade
Oh weary is the man whose soul refuses cleaning
Oh quiet is the voice whose point has already been made
Does the sun not shine the way that it shone before
To me it does not, I am no more, no more
